Here is Hawaiʻi encourages and supports the beginning student in the study of Hawaiian language and hopes to build the desire to continue to learn. Here is Hawaiʻi provides additional resource materials to build and strengthen the language skills of beginning Hawaiian language students of all ages. We offer Hawaiian language short stories, word games, and English/Hawaiian activity books.

The Hawaiian short stories (moʻolelo pōkole Hawaiʻi) and games (pāʻani) are intended to help build confidence by encouraging the beginning student to use the Hawaiian grammar they have already learned and stretch their knowledge with new vocabulary. By reading the Hawaiian stories contained in Mālama i ka ʻŌlelo Ola, He Mau Moʻolelo Pōkole Pae Hoʻomaka and listening to the stories read aloud, the student is able to use what he has learned at an early stage in his studies. And thereby, the desire to learn continues to grow... petroglyph symbol
